Final Standings!
SEVENTH PLACE!!

EVENT 1:  3-24-02 / Operation Paintball

Three days before the event confusion started.   Three of the six members backed out of the first event.  Mike got on the horn and contacted "Doc," and before long he agreed to help us in the bind.  The fifth member was a lot harder to find.  Because of weather and the short notice, we couldn't find anyone to cover the spot.  We decided to make a go at it with 4 members.  We arrived at the field with 3 members, and finally "Doc" called.  He had been waiting at the large parking lot without anyone letting him know what was going on with us.  We had the fourth member there.  Our first game was the second of the day, so we all got ready and in the meantime met a guy (Dan) who was an alternate from another team.  He offered to play for us.  We lucked out.  He turned out to be a very good player.  We all got along well and played well also.  Our first game was played with four players (Dan was getting ready).  Our second game was five players strong, and we played well.  We won three games, lost one, and stalemated one with us pulling the flag.  We missed the finals by 37 points to our sister team "Psycho Circus Freaks."  The top two teams in each bracket went on to the finals.  For our first event together, and Levi's and James's first ever tourney, we played well.  We played very well, all things considered.  Hopefully this will be just a start and a hint of things to come with Ex-Gen.

Again, we thank Dan and Amy (I hope I remembered the names right).  Without them, we couldn't have placed as well as we did.

EVENT 2:  4-21-02 / Sudden Impact

We reffed this event on our home field.  The day started out rainy and cold, but as the games started, the rain moved away.  The weather was not good by a long shot, but wasn't too horrible.  Not much to say about this event.  We got reffing points, which we hope will help our series points.  Very fun event, lots of nice players.  Great day!

EVENT 3:  5-25-02 & 5-26-02 / Challenge Park Extreme

Challenge Cup 2002!  First event with all of our members.  We played hyperball fields, air fields, and mounds (old school style).  We did better on the hyper fields, but really played well on all of the fields with the only exception being our first series of two games on the mounds.  These were our first ever mounds games, so some problems were expected.  After these spankings were handed to us, we got our act together and played some tourney quality paintball.  With 6 wins and 6 losses, we didn't play as well as we hoped, but it was a great learning experience and very fun.  Series points dropped us to 14th, but we still have no idea how the points are awarded.  We were disappointed with some teams switching divisions in mid season.  We will have to learn more of how things are done in the CPSA.

EVENT 4:  7-21-02  / Friendly Fire

Back in the saddle after "The Cup."  This event was our first without "Jones" and without his leadership, we had some issues.  One word for this event HOT!!  I think we saw Lucifer and Osama wandering around the field with Adolf.   WOW I think the heat index was pegged at 110 degrees.  Because of the heat and exhaustion, a lot of teams didn't play up to par, not us, we tried our best and kicked a little ass on the way.  Of the preliminary matches, we won 2, lost 2, and one was given to us in a forfeit.  We made it to the semi-finals for the first time.  Also making it to the semis were "Psycho Circus" and "Psycho Circus Freaks." both teams we practice and are very close to.  Freaks made it to finals by the end of the day.  Unfortunately ExGen didn't make it that far, the heat and internal struggles took their toll on us, and we let the games slip away.  On a bright note, we did lose to some very good teams instead of us beating ourselves completely.  Hopefully at the next event (Wyldside), we will have the internal issues worked out and we will do better than before.

EVENT 5:  8-18-02  / Wyldside

Woodsball...  kinda.  This field was very difficult.  Our field seemed to be made for stalemates.  Not much to say about it.  We got beaten, the field beat us, and so did the other teams.  But it was nice weather, yeah at least there was a highlight.  Ryan and Jordan were very helpful in this event.  Again Jones had other obligations that forced his absence.  That about sums up this event.  Crappy is the best way to describe this event without using fowl language.

EVENT 6:  9-22-02  / Fox River Games

Ok, i need to remember this one, it was a while ago, and I have been putting off an update.

EVENT 7:  10-20-02  / Rockford Paintball

Well, I didnt attend this event...  So Ill have to get Ryan to remember this one for me.

EVENT 8:  11-10-02  / Challenge Park Extreme

Final event of the year for CPSA!  We shot JT maxim paint, which I feel was spectacular.  We also got our favorite hyperball field.  Things were looking good for us.  We had Larry Morgan replace Randy because of scheduling conflicts, this temp change worked out well.  Larry is a great baller and brings fun energy to the team.  We played very well, against all the teams, maxing a couple, and generally showing that we came to play ball.  We did have some issues with reffing (what reffing there was, it was understaffed).  But we managed to work through the grey calls.  We ended up making it to the semi-finals yet again.  During the finals, we played Psycho Circus.  We lost to them after being up 5 to 3.   Second game we maxed, yes we got a perfect 100.  Third game, we lost our way and got beaten.  The semis were on the "JT" airball field.  Again this was a great facility, good fields, and GREAT paint.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Well, we got 7th place.  Not too darn bad.  The first year the team played together.  My personal first year to even play tourneys.  I look forward to next year with my teammates.  We are debating whether to play CPSA again.  Its a very expensive series with little to no return, but its great experience, and a great way to see some good paintball.  I know the entire team thanks Jon at Sudden Impact.  We were proud to represent you and your facilities.  We also hope to continue the relationship next year and for many years to come.  In the coming months (Dec, Jan, and Feb) we have much to do.  Plans are already in the works for tourneys and practices.  And even branching out to bigger and better events.  Hang on tight, the roller coaster is about to begin!!!
